Ancient Al Ghat, a town cited in classical Arabic poetry, is famed for its Dates in the central region of Saudi Arabia . Here, an idea was born and a search was begun that led to the South West desert of the United States, North Africa and other centers for research , farming and processing of Dates. Al Ghat, the idea and the search gave birth to the Al Fakhra Date Company and to new thinking about Date production and marketing .

The goal of Al Fakhra is to produce and market superior Dates that meet or exceed international standards.

Al Fakhra uses a comprehensive approach which establishes quality controls at all levels of Date production and processing . Since Al Fakhra is not merely a Date processing plant , it stands alone, far ahead of all other Saudi Date companies with its unique approach to Date production and its dedication to quality .

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the oldest and one of the largest producers of dates in the world . The Saudi people are among the largest consumers of Dates , and many are connoisseurs . Saudi Arabia is rich with many types, shapes and colors of Dates that are not known nor found anywhere else. In order to be properly appreciated in new and sophisticated markets, Saudi Dates must be well cared for, well handled and beautifully packaged .

To accomplish this , Al Fakhra uses a new approach . We focus first on better farming and cultural practices in the growing of Dates . We use new and better methods for the handling and processing of dates, which preserve the natural freshness of the fruit and maintain consistent quality. We then package our Dates to attract the discerning consumer . In short, we at Al Fakhra developed an integrated approach that includes quality controls at both the farming and processing levels, as well as appropriate product packaging .
